Noni: Clinical Use. Dosage

Noni has been reported to have benefits for people suffering from arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, muscle aches and pains, menstrual difficulties, headache, heart disease, atherosclerosis, AIDS, cancers, gastric ulcers, poor digestion, depression, senility and drug addiction. Noni has not been significantly investigated under clinical trial conditions, so evidence for its use is derived from traditional, in vitro and animal studies.

ANTICANCER

There are anecdotal reports of noni being used as an adjuvant immunotherapy for cancer; however, further research is required to determine its role in clinical practice.

HEARING AND MENTAL HEALTH

A small placebo-controlled pilot study involving nine hearing impaired osteopenic or osteoporotic women found that ingestion of approximately 50 mL of noni juice over 3 months resulted in improved mental health and a mild protective effect on hearing. Further studies are required to determine the clinical significance of these findings.
